Ceil’s Smile

I started this blog to track my ongoing condition, thoughts, and feelings on hearing I have a recurrence of melanoma after five cancer-free years.
I never wanted to blog before now. I think of blogs as exhibitionist platforms providing more information than I typically want to know. Now is different. My circumstances have changed and I want a way to keep in touch with anyone who wants to follow how I'm doing. If the blogging format is new to you, you'll see that entries on this page are stored in reverse chronological order, newest postings first at the top of the page. To follow the whole evolving thread from the beginning, go to the archives below where links to the oldest entries are stored first.

My condolences on the loss of your mon. Ceil was one-of-a-kind, and I'll miss her dearly. Here's another snapshot for your collection:

Ceil will be missed. She was loved by many.
Thank you so much Ted, for these and for the other photo of yours that I grabbed. I've added them to the flickr set.
Thank you so much for posting these pictures. I went through the entire set with a huge smile on my face. The world needs more people like Ceil!
Thank you so much for posting this treasure trove of pictures of your mom. She was a beauty from the inside all the way out.
She is already deeply missed.
I was very saddened to hear of Ceil's passing. My interactions were confined to our relationships within the FoxPro community. Ceil was a passionate, kind and generous woman who gave so much because she could and *never* because she expected anything in return.
Ceil was an admired and very special woman - not simply because of her abundant courage - but also because of her warmth and thoughtfulness. My prayer is that you, her daughters, family and friends, find comfort and solace in the wonderful memories that I am certain you have.
Sincerely,
David Blumenthal
What a lovely woman. What a bright spirit.
I see a picture of a woman who had many close friends, and who absolutely adored her children.
Thanks for giving us a chance to get to see the smiling side of Ceil.
